1974 BMW 2002 automatic finished in Fjord Blue over a Navy Blue interior with a walnut instrument panel. The odometer shows 54,618 kilometres but the actual mileage is believed to be 154,618. Chassis number 4252659. Under the bonnet is an 'M10' 2.0-litre naturally aspirated inline-four, delivering 99hp to the rear wheels through a ZF three-speed automatic transmission. The cabin has been fitted with a modern Sony CD player and uprated door speakers.

This charming little Swedish-sold 2002 has been in the procession of the current owner since 1999. This gentleman was a true enthusiast and an active member of the BMW club and 2002 community. A stack of folders accompany the car, they include original manuals, local inspections, technical manuals, numerous parts and servicing invoices. You will even find old printed photos from when this owner acquired the car, newspaper and magazine clippings, tickets from events he attended and old club stickers and correspondence. This is without doubt once of the best documented cars we have had the pleasure of selling and the history alone will make it an enjoyable purchase for the next enthusiast owner.

The car has been inspected and driven by our workshop. They have noted there is a small coolant leak from the thermostat housing, a little oil moisture on both engine and gearbox (which given the age of the car is not unexpected). Their main concern was the paint – although it presents very well in photos and outside in natural light it should be noted that it has not been done to a concours standard, looking a little flat in places under fluorescent lights, with dust spots, unevenness and orange peel. the original cabin is in very good order, with some time-earned patina visible on the controls. Inside the stereo surround panel appears to have been replaced, the speedometer behaves erratically, but no other serious electrical or mechanical faults have been detected.

The car starts and drives well, appearing to be in good mechanical order and should bring many more enjoyable years of ownership to its next keeper.
